Halloween Decorations & Fun Ideas

On Tuesday October 25th in the afternoon, we went out to the Amish Farm stand and got two pumpkins for 2.00 each , apple cider, a bushel of apples and a whoopee pie.
My pumpkin was a pinkish color perfect for my Minnie Mouse!
I found the Minnie pattern a few years back on Family Fun .com

The cute and innocent v.s. the ugly and evil!

M's scary pumpkin!
This is our last year decorating our doorway for Halloween. It's sad but exciting for the possibilities we will have next year.

At school some amazing parents made theses cute and taste treats for Halloween while my students painted jars to make jack o lanterns!

Healthy and festively creative!

My Halloween Costume

Every year  for the past 15 years I have been a jack o lantern for Halloween. This year I decided to mix it up! As crazy as this may sound this time every year I go to K-mart and scout out their Christmas items that they have just (with in 24 hours) stocked on shelves to see if I need, like, or want any of theses items. I did not find anything that appealed to me this year so I decided to go down one of the Halloween isles and low and behold right in front of my pretty blue eyes was this ...
Hello Purple (Violet) crayon... it caught my attention and then I saw the half price sign. SOLD!

This Halloween I was a crayon. Our school party and parade was on Friday and the students thought I was going to be a witch. I tricked them and was an awesome purple crayon! I LOVE IT!

Roast Beef and Roasted potatos!

On October 19th I made my first Roast Beef with my mother's recipe. I was in shock when it tasted just like hers. It was wonderful! It tasted like home! M even said this was the best meal I had made to date! I gave myself a big pat on the back! Go me!

I of course had to photo document the occasion!
I also needed photo graphic proof that I had actually made it!

Beginnings of our new home.

In less then a year we will be moving into our new home. We (M and I) have been photo documenting the process since day one back in May.
The piles of dirt is where three small houses use to be.
June 16th 2010

Then a month later which seemed like a lot of dirt pushing which I guess they need to level out the ground first. They started pouring some foundation and making concrete walls.
July 14th 2010
Then August rolled around and there is more bricks.
August 10th 2010

August 31st the plumbing is finished!
 October 7th we have walls!

A picture of my feet on what will be our new bathroom titles for each bathroom.
An example of the shower stall for the one bathroom. So much more easier to clean the a titled bathroom.
This is a photo of our new furniture. This is the love seat. We also got a matching sofa and chair and a half. Not in this color in a dark brown.
The last color on the swatch!

Next is our new kitchen table!
It will look much better in our new home then in the store! This table currently has one leaf in it which is shown in the picture. We got the second leaf and it will fit up to 14 people! I am so excited! More dinner parties to be had!

I really love theses chairs. They are really comfortable, much more so then the ones we currently have.
So far we are making good progress and I can not wait until spring!

End of September

At the very end of September it was starting to feel like fall. In fall we have fun fondue parties. We invite our friends over and eat some yummy food. Note: normally I have a cute set up but I was a little lazy.

Also at the end of September I started to have a great rapport with my students. I received a few "love" notes.

So, it's the end of October! Where did the month go? and oh I didn't blog at ALL! Ahh! So, as I sit here listening to Christmas music at the end of October I am going to try to get back on track and rewind my month.  First, back in August I planted what I thought to be a dead plant in the ground to see if I could revive it. Sure enough mother nature took over!
September 28th 2011 Flowers begin to bloom from my "dead" plant.

It's amazing what a little rain, rich soil and sun can do.
Almost a month later on October 23rd 2011 my dead flowers were a flower bush!

How I love mother nature!
