The Disney Secret Surprise Plan

Oh the Magic! The Disney Magic that is! I am planning a secret surprise for my parents. It will soon be their 30th Wedding Anniversary this coming August. A little birdy a few years back said that she(my mom) wanted to try and have a Disney family vacation  near their 30th Wedding Anniversary. Well that never happened (little do they know) because Myself and my two siblings are very busy. So, after my Father showed me a picture of this Disney Door tag in February  I knew I had to make this special family vacation happen!

I called my siblings and said  "Can you clear your schedule for theses dates? Mom and Dad are going on their annual Disney Cruise and I want to surprise them." They did and I booked it in a matter of days!
So the journey begins...

St. Patrick's Day

On Saturday Morning the Leprechaun came to my house while my girlfriends were visiting! He left footprints all over the living room and dining room and green coins.

The foot prints lead to the kitchen table. The table had green plates and bowels and cups!

The foot prints then lead to a yummy plate of fruit! It looked like a rainbow!

He even brought Lucky Charms and Irish Soda Bread!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Lent 2012
1. No Chocolate
2. Walk to work if above 32degrees
3. No TV Tuesdays
4. No facebook
5. Attend Stations of the Cross

Amazing husband

March has been full of warm days and cool nights. The girls and I went on a hike today and when I got home my amazing husband had a table set up out back and dinner ready!
He is so sweet and thoughtful and well... AMAZING!

We ate dinner together in the warm spring (felt like summer) air and then took a trip to DQ for some ice cream to end a warm summer spring day!

Yummy in my tummy!

Week One of the Whole Living Challenge

This morning I woke up and had 6 oz of warm water with lemon to start my digestive system. I then had 2 juiced grapefruit that made a little more then 6 oz of fluid and 5 carrots that also made about 6oz of fluid along with a inch of fresh ginger root which made about an oz of fluid. It was a little to strong on the ginger and I drank only 3 oz of it.
We then made the butternut squash apple soup and it was really yummy. However, by dinner I was starving! I decided a "real" dinner was in order and I had Chinese. This was the trend for the rest of the week. Juice or smoothie for breakfast. A salad for lunch and a regular dinner. This Challenge only lasted a week for me. I have continued to juice as I normally do and a healthy lunch. A week worked just fine for me! :-)

Whole Living Challenge

As I was perusing Pintrest I found a pin for some smoothies and juices.

It was linked to www.wholeliving.com. I there found the 2012 Whole Living Action Plan which can be found at:http://www.wholeliving.com/152870/2012-whole-living-action-plan. I e-mailed a friend of mine and asked? "Want to try?" So we went to the store and tomorrow we will be starting a 3 or 4 week detox plan that doesn't involve starving ourselves! There are suggested meals for the week and the recipes as well as a shopping list. There are also exercises to do during the week and how to keep you on track through out the cleanse! I have cut out chocolate for the past week and a half for lent. This alone has given me headaches so I drink extra water now and they seem to subside.
As part of the challenge they ask:

"Set Goals ...

Before the challenge, write down five things that this detox means to you and what you hope to achieve"

This detox means
1. Finding my healthier me!
2. Being the best that I can be!
3. Completing a healthy challenge that will benefit my body and mind!
4. Trying new healthier foods and continuing to consume them after the challenge.
5. I love to juice so why not?

They ask you to let your family members know that you will be beginning this challenge and to help them support you. They also ask you to drink lots of water, space out meals and have a food journal (I will be using my blog)
Tomorrow morning I will start with a yummy juice! Let the Healthy Games begin! (kinda like the Hunger games)
PS- If you haven't read Hunger Games you are missing out!

Dr Seuss

This year for Dr. Seuss's birthday I had my fourth graders read to my kindergarten's Dr. Seuss books and then make Dr. Seuss hats. It was fun! Some of my students got to watch the original Lorax before the new Lorax movie came out in theaters.

I also had a cute bulletin board that I wanted to share with you!
