The beginnings of a kitchen

I present to you the beginnings of my kitchen!  All of our appliances are black as you can see. They are also ADA approved. This means that a person in a wheel chair can use them.
(Long Story if you want to know ask and I will let you know)
This black beauty makes ice too!
Look at the storage options! The moveable drawers! For many of you this might not be exciting but for me it is glorious! I love new, never used appliances and all the options I have for a organized refrigerator!

They were installing the dishwasher and refrigerator. If you are wondering about the space under the counter tops where cabinets should be, that is also ADA requirements.

I LOVE this storage and I am NOT a fan of the location. Many emotions run through my head when thinking about it and none of which are happy. Do you see all of the wasted space in the corner? Wasted counter, wasted underneath storage.
My new stove was in another room out of the way so they could install the dishwasher and refrigerator.
One of my favorite parts about the dishwasher and stove is that there are handles on them and I can put dish towels on the handles. Simple things make me happy!
So, that is the beginning of the kitchen. We plan on adding and fixing mistakes as needed. I will keep you all (family, friends and random blog hoppers) updated as more is complete!

Preparation for the school year begins!

This year I am teaching second grade AND I am going to be the librarian and teach library skills, research skills and writing skills for K-6. My plate is full. I spent all of June (after school ended) finishing up a huge library project that is now almost complete. I took an online masters class which just finished and I am now starting to prepare for this coming school year. After the cleaners washed my carpets I rearranged my teaching area and starting on a few projects...
This is my cute little bulletin board
Theses drawers are part of a project that you can view on 2nd Grade Stuff
All you need is Drawers, Modge Podge, Scrap booking paper and Scissors

This is my little reading area for the K, 1st and 2nd graders. I will be adding too it and post later.
It was a very busy Friday but productive at the same time! I hope at the end of Monday I feel just as good!
I hope all of you teachers out there are having a fun time preparing for your school year!

 I skipped Tuesday(not sure why).
Wednesday July 11th 2012
Such a poor picture.
I will be purchasing a nice large mirror for my new home.
 Thursday July12th 2012
Friday July 13th 2012
I really like this purple shirt. Its soft and comfy.
I also love how I have a random flip flop in the background.

Parts of my unfinished bathroom

On July 11th I took this picture of the sink. That was the only piece in the bathroom. We will be changing the faucets eventually. Two days later we have...

I don't think I am going to be able to reach the toilet paper from the toilet. We will have to move that.
You can tell they are still working on the room... the shower is  full of sawdust.
The simple things in life... like a towel holder.

Random New Home Pictures

Here are some random pictures I took one day when we were visiting our new home.
On top will be the vent for the stove and the stove/oven will be underneath.
That black circle thing to the left is the plug for the stove. then to the right is the water hook up for the refrigerator.
What I thought was wires for the microwave is actually the wires for the electronics on the vent I think.
Lower cabinets which will have hardware once it is installed.

View down the hall way... no floors yet just construction stuff.

Comfy Couch

My new couch... still in the store.
M and I went to make sure they had all of our furniture for our new home. We picked it out in January. We will have three pieces, sofa, love seat and chair and a half. They had one in the store so I got comfy! I am very excited about our new furniture! They get delivered August 6th ! (I will post in home pictures later)
